Frequently asked questions.

A productivity tracker helps you understand how working time is spent. TimeTac breaks recorded hours down by project and activity, separates billable from non-billable time, and lets you compare recorded hours with working time targets.
It gives employees and managers a shared view of recorded time. Your team can review which projects and activities take the most time and use that information to discuss workloads, planning and billable work.
No. TimeTac records hours booked to projects and activities, not keystrokes, screenshots or idle time. Automatic activity detection is switched on per person rather than imposed on a team, and anyone can exclude specific apps and sites. If you need a tool that surveils employees, TimeTac is not it.
Booked hours are visible to whoever runs the project. That is what a time tracking system is for. Automatic activity detection via automated time tracking is a separate decision that each person makes for themselves, including which apps and sites are left out of it.
Time tracking shows how much time is recorded and where it is allocated. Assessing productivity also requires context, such as the work completed, its quality and the results achieved.
Not for the breakdown itself, which works in the browser. Automatic time tracking runs in the desktop app for macOS and Windows.
